Launched in 2001, Desi Junction first started 1 hour Hindi/Punjabi
programs in Chicago on 1530 AM WJJG Radio. With growing popularity of the shows and its RJ's the radio show now spans 4 hours and can
be heard accross the globe on the web. The program was started as a 1 hour pre-recorded show. In the weeks to follow, it turned into 100% live talk and music show. In a short course of a couple of months, Desi Junction became the most sought after Radio show. In a very short time, Desi Junction has risen to the top of the emerging ethnic entertainment industry. With many unique events like Zee Heritage India Festival in, the Summer Festival, Singing & Dancing Competition, Desi Junction has established its identity as a forward-thinking and quality-focused corporation.

Our Volunteers Desi Junction's philosipy of connecting people is displayed by its RJ’s and voluntary team who apart from playing hit music, aggressively take up relevant issues that effect people on a day to day basis. DJ has emerged as the Junction for the common immigtant man from South Asia where they can meet and share common things. Formula for SuccessIn Sept 2001, Desi Junction was launched as a 1 hour pre-recorded show and in the weeks to follow, it turned into100% live talk and music show. Gradually over the course of a couple of months, Desi Junction became a popular Radio show. But now "Desi Junction,", has become an unlikely sensation. Phone lines are flooded, remote broadcasts draw scores of fans and the listeners are pouring song requests. Above all, "Desi Junction” has given Indian immigrants in the suburbs a connection to their culture--and to each other. Avid listeners find the program fun but hardly trite. Desi Junction is being run by all volunteer team. Our listener base comprises of people from the ages 10 and above and from all kinds of races - Indians as well as Pakistani's as via our show we try and cater to all their needs and try and fill the vacuum created by the Individual Countries political interests. We have no religious, polical or national affiliation other than providing quality entertainment to South Asians in the area.
Founders
It was on 1st September 2001 when Jassi Parmar, Dara Singh , Happy Heer and Baljit Gill got together as they wanted to start a radio program that would
connect people back to their motherland. Gradually over the course of a couple of months, Desi Junction became a popular Radio show. Jassi Parmar
CEO & Program Director Jassi Parmar is the founder & host of the “Desi Junction”. Jassi has created his own unique style with a combination of humor, talk and entertainment every Sunday afternoons. Computer Engineer by profession Parmar is working as a project manager for one of the major airline in Chicago. He is the brain behind the success and popularity of Desi Junction Radio. Jassi’s easy going style and personality have helped him earn thousands of fans; these are people who can relate to his personable style and work ethic. He has been regarded as one of the sincere person in show business and the hardest-working Individual. Jassi has concepted, written & direc ted many stage shows, he has hosted Zee Bhangra Championship, Antakshri, Singing & Dance Competetions.
