When Neil Armstrong set his first step on moon he said... "That's one small step for [a] man, one giant leap for mankind."
On Sunday November 14th 2010, history was created right here on our planet earth in Chicago on AM 1530 Radio.
For nearly a decade, "Desi Junction Radio", has united the Chicago Desi Community, mostly immigrants from the Indian Sub-Continent via its weekly radio broadcast and annual indoor/outdoor events including events for kids and seniors.
The weekly radio show mostly supported by the business owners in the community and occasionally funded by its team members was near extinction, when the team wanted to try one last option of Membership Drive as suggested by some listeners.
Attesting their loyalty to Radio show, Listeners came out in big numbers and made an annual pledge to support the Radio Show by a predefined amount every month. History was created and we all were a witness to that.
Encouraged by the listeners response, "Desi Junction Radio" has quadrupled its efforts to create yet another landmark in "Desi Entertainment"
"Desi Junction Radio" is striving to register itself as "The First and only Desi Radio in America that is completely funded by its listeners." into Guinness book of world records 2011.
