Challenge 2010 - ZAMANE KO DIKHANA HAI is an event that is filled with various aspects of the South Asian Culture inspires new and young local talent and challenges their Singing and Dancing capabilities. For the last eight years Desi Junction Radio has given one of a kind platform to the budding and aspiring talent in the area. Just a day after the last competition, the team started getting inquiries and reservations for next singing and dancing contest.

Challenge 2010 General Rules
Challenge 2010 Registration:
All the participants must fill the online registration form and register their item on or before July 31st 2010. Register Now
Application Fee: -
All the registered participants must pay a non-refundable participation fees to Desi Junction on or before Aug 15th.
Registaration Fee :
If Paid on or Before July 15th $25/Participant
After July 15th $30/Participant
Mode of Payment
Via Checks : Checks can be mailed to Desi Junction radio
Music: -
The contestants will be required to provide their music on individual CD. There must be only 1 ROUTINE/SONG PER CD. Each CD must be clearly marked with the name of the routine, age division, performance division, and studio name
FOR EMERGENCY, it is advisable to have a duplicate copy of your music in a backup CD. CD’S MUST BE TURNED IN AT THE TIME OF CHECK IN AT THE VENUE
All performers must reach the venue at least 1 hour prior to the show and check in at the Desi Junction registration booth.

The Dance competition will take place in 4 categories & 7 Age Groups:
Categories : Solo, Duo, Trio & Group (Minimum 4 Participants)
Age Groups :
Tiny Tots (5 and under)
Kids (8 And under)
Juniors( 10 and under)
Preteens ( 12 and under)
Teens ( 16 and under)
Youth ( 19 and under)
Adults ( 20 and over)
Any category must have at least 4 entries to be considered for the competition. Desi Junction reserves the right to cancel/combine categories if there are less than 4 entries in any category.
Time Limit : -
Each category has time limits which cannot be exceeded; points will be deducted for a routine that is over the time limit.
Solo 2 to 3 minutes
Duo / Trio 3 to 5 minutes
Group 4 to 6 minutes
Judging Criteria: - Participants will be judged on following criteria
• Presentation
• Complexity
• Choreography
• Creativity
• Over All Effect |

The Singing competition will take place in 2 categories & 7 Age Groups:

Judging Criteria: - Participants will be judged on following criteria
Song Selection – Tough songs will have more weight than simple song.
•Sur & Taal– Singing should be synchronized with music and the original song
•Pronunciation/song Lyrics – It should be pronounced correctly, song should have original lyrics. For example you cannot add your lyrics to the song.
•Voice Quality: The candidates with better voice quality will get more marks
•Overall presentation/performance – Energy, stage presentation, charisma, and facial expressions will be counted.
