  1. How many participants will be in each Category?
    1. There will be at least 4 participants in each category. If there are less than 4 in any category/group then that group will be merged with another Age group.

  1. Where is the venue Located?
    1. The competition will be held on Saturday August 21st at Jain Community Center in Bartlett

  2.  What will be the timings of the event?
       a.       
    Its going to be a full day event, preliminaries I the morning and finals in the afternoon. Depending on the number of registration the competition may go from 10 Am to 10 PM

  1. Is this a show or an audition?
    1. This is a show where the participants may be required to go though multiple rounds to compete in the grand finale.

  1. What happens to the winner?
    1. The Winner will get a Trophy, Certificate and recognition in Print & Electronic Media.
  2. How many songs should we prepare?
    1. For singing competition each participant should prepare 3 songs.
    2. For Dance Competition each participant/team needs to prepare only one Routine
  3. What will be the Judging Criteria?
    For Dance Competition the Participants will be judged on following criteria
•        Presentation
•        Complexity 
•        Choreography
•        Creativity
•        Over All Effect / Entertainment Value.   
    1. For Singuing Competition the Participants will be judged on following criteria

·        Song Selection – Tough songs will have more weight than simple song. 

·        Sur & Taal– Singing should be synchronized with music and the original song

·        Pronunciation/song Lyrics – It should be pronounced correctly, song should have original lyrics.  For example you cannot add your lyrics to the song.

·        Voice Quality: The candidates with better voice quality will get more marks

·        Overall presentation/performance – Energy, stage presentation, charisma, and facial expressions will be counted.

  1. Can we repeat the song in quarter final & semi- finals?
    1. For Dance Competition YES
    2. For Singing Competition NO
  2. What kind of music can we use?
    1. This competition is totally based on Karaoke not with live musicians.
    2. The participants need to bring their own Karaoke CDs
  3. Can we have other language then Hindi?
    1. For Dance Competition the teams can perform on any South Asian Language Music.  
    2. For Singing Competition only Hindi Film Songs are accepted. 
       
  4. Can we do American pop dance in the competition? Can we do pop dance on Bollywood song?
    1. Yes in Bollywood Dance category, the participants can pick any dance style and they can also combine multiple dance forms.
  5. When is the audition?
    1. There will be no auditions, depending on the no of registrations they may be preliminary rounds one day before the finals.
  6. Can I Pay later on After Registration ?
    1. Yes you can pay after registration. Your fee must reach Desi Junction on or before July 31st. Note there will be a late fee of $5, after July 31st
  7. How can I Pay the Registration Fee ?

    1. If the reguistration is for individual or small group, then we recomend paying online
    2. If the registration is for multiple participants and groups, then we suggest that you mail a single or multiple check(s) and write the name of the group or participant for individual performance.
